Hotels at the pace of the islands
Koror contains much of Palau’s visitor accommodation and services. Airai sits at the southern end of Babeldaob, includes the international airport and connects by road to Koror. Islands beyond this connected area, including Peleliu, require separate arrangements. Pick a base around the balance of marine activities and overland visits you want to make.
A stay sold around diving or excursions may contain very different services from a room-only reservation. Compare the outings, equipment where supplied, meals and transport arrangements. Request a breakdown of any activity-related charges too. These details need confirmation for your particular programme, rather than being inferred from the general description of the package.
Road connections link Koror, Airai and Babeldaob, while other islands need a boat or another specific service. A reliable arrangement for collection by your excursion operator may matter as much as apparent proximity on the map. Confirm the pickup points, then organise land-exploration days separately so the accommodation works for both parts of the visit.
One detail worth knowing
Ask your boat operator whether it collects from the exact hotel address before choosing a room on proximity to Koror alone.
When to plan your stay
The climate stays warm throughout the year. Rain is possible in every season and is generally more frequent from July to October.
